Frequently Asked Questions
How do I delete a goal?
Try swiping your finger over the goal to get the delete button.
Or tap a goal and scroll to the bottom of the edit view. You can see a little trashcan icon; tap the trashcan to delete your goal.
How does selecting categories work?
When you’re in your goal list, the second top left icon that looks like a folder will bring up your categories. If you tap a category, a paperclip will show, meaning you have selected a category. When you tap again the paperclip will remove and you deselect the category.
Currently you can only select one category at a time. This will change in a future update.
When I select a category it moves up the list, why?
This has to do with 4 reasons:
This way your most tapped categories are always at the top of the list.
When you have a large list of categories, you don’t have to scroll to the bottom to uncheck a category, because a selected category is always at the top.
When you open the categories, you always know which categories are selected
And fourth it has to do with a future update which will change a couple of things regarding categories.
How can I show all my goals?
Just uncheck a selected category, this will show all goals.
Why are all my goals disappeared/invisible?
Uncheck the selected category to view all your goals.
Why is everything in English?
I’m an independent developer and I currently don’t have the time to completely localize Goalbook. It’s definitely on my wish list, but first I need to work on some other things people have been requesting.
When I share my goal it doesn’t show in the global list?
This could have something to do with the following reasons:
This can happen when you don’t have an Internet connection while sharing a goal.
Goalbook only shares goals, when all country & language settings are set up correctly in your iPhone settings. When it suspects there are some irregularities in your language and country settings it won’t share your goal. This is just a precaution so goals aren’t shared in the wrong language when viewing the global list.
This can happen when too many people marked some of your goals as inappropriate. When this happens you can’t share goals anymore.
Why are there different languages in the global goal list?
Goalbook shares a goal based on the iPhone language and country settings. If these settings are, for example, set to English. Goalbook assumes the user types in English and shares the goal under the English language section. But when a user types in a different language then specified in the iPhone settings, the goal will show up under the wrong language section.
How can I see global goals in my native language?
When you’re in the global goals view, there's a button in the top right corner that shows your suggested language. The language suggestion is based on your iPhone country and language settings. If you tap the language text you can select a language of your choice.
How can I change the strikethrough in a certain goal?
When you mark a goal as completed, Goalbook will randomly select a strikethrough style. There are a couple of different styles ranging from normal (60% chance), heavy (30% chance) and special (10% chance).
If you don’t like a particular strikethrough style you can recheck a goal as completed. This will randomly pick a style again, so you probably have to do this a couple of time until you get lucky. In a future update you will be able to choose your strikethrough style.
Can I backup my data?
Not yet, it’s coming in a future update.
I’ve tried everything but nothing helped? What should i do?
Send a message to goalbook@adaptablecode.com or fill in one of the forms on www.adaptablecode.com.
Besides that, you can always try to restart your iPhone, and update to the latest iOS version.
